Look At What Others Are Doing

June 18th, 2006

Here’s something you should be doing, if you are not already.

Look at what the big guns, and actually everyone else is doing. I don’t know how obvious this is. I didn’t think of it myself early
on. When I did, it was a ‘DOH’ kind of feeling. Clonk the side of my head, dang, why didn’t I think of that b4?!

They are giving you no cost lessons, even if they are accidental.

Let me give you examples.

One thing I have noticed, which is quite recent, is to give people a professional looking new product, an mp3 file, which could have be sold
if they had wanted to do so.

This product is created by you (the Internet Marketer), and covers a certain Internet Marketing area. Lets say Affiliate Marketing.
You offer this quality product to other marketers to distribute. They will give it to their list. After all, they are giving something valuable at no cost. So the marketer wins. The people on the list win to, to a lesser extent.

So what do you, as the product creator, get out of it? Well, just before the interested party is about to be delivered to the download page, a
one time only offer, a really fine offer, at a great price, chock full of quality products is offered. So when someone buys from this very compelling offer, the price is split between the product originator and the list owner.

Obviously, the other thing that you as the product maker gets from all this, is another person on your list, since the person who will
be downloading the no cost product will be supplying their name and email address to get the download link sent to them. Additionally,
anyone who buys the one time offer is someone who has proven to open up their wallet and spend money, an even more valuable person
to have on your list!

Obviously, something like this would work in many different niches. If you have the expertise in a chosen field, why not give it a try? If its successful in the internet marketing niches, it’ll likelywork gangbusters in a non-marketing niche!

Another example is to tie yourself into a high priced product. Lets say Mr Z makes a product called, The Adsense Mastery Course. Its
got a bunch of CDs and DVDs, and it covers everything you need to know how to succeed with Adsense. It costs $997. You, Mr Marketer,
decide instead of offering a ton of over priced bonuses, want to give the purchaser something special. You develop a companion
course which delves deep into the AM Course, and so giving the buyer maximum benefit. Also you give weekly coaching, using emails.

This is not only helping anyone that plonked down the grand for the course, its helping them, and it might make you feel better too,
than just offering ‘$4459 worth of amazing bonuses!’ Said bonuses, which they might not end up using, or even be able to use. We all
have enough stuff on our hard drives we haven’t yet got to as it is, true?

So next time you get an email from a smart marketer, watch what he or she does. Maybe its something you yourself can emulate in your
own business?

Thats all for today.

Remember to KIS

June 14th, 2006

If you are curious what ‘KIS’ is, it means to - ‘Keep It Simple’.

Internet Marketing is made to seem so complicated. And it is, and at the same time, it isn’t. Let me clarify. What you need to know
to be successful, (success as in most endeavors being defined by income levels), is a lot. Building a website, uploading it to to your host. Bringing visitors to your websites. Etc etc. These are not
things anyone can just learn in an hour.

However, even though most things can be outsourced, therefore you don’t need to know it to make it happen, it is a good idea to learn
the fundamentals. Early on you might not have the cash to afford to outsource, for example. Also, its a good thing to have a working
knowledge of the basics, so anybody who you outsource to, when they talk to you about what you want, or how the project is progressing,
you will know what they are talking about!

So, early on you really should learn yourself to put together a website and all the other elements that go into the mix of asuccessful website. Its these elements which are not complicated. Like baking a cake. The steps themselves are relatively simple, you
just have to know how to do each of the steps!

Lets take an example. You want to put up an adsense website. Firstly you research to find a good topic, one with high paying
keywords($1-$5), yet with a decent search number a month(1000 plus). Then buy a domain name. Next you locate content. “Private
Label”, where you can alter it to make it your own is good. Or research and write it yourself, which is best.

Now insert the adsense ads, optimizing them for a high click thru rate. Finally get traffic to your site. Do this by writing articles about your subject and submitting them to as many article directly sites as possible. Also, obtain private label rights to a book you can use for viral marketing, or just write a quality report
yourself.

Then brand it, and let others brand it with their own affiliate ID,and it should be passed on and read by many people over time. You
can even visit forums, talk bout the subject, this will also get targeted visitors. Sell something on ebay related to the topic, and you will also get visitors that way.

Keep tweaking and testing the ads to get maximum click through rate, and BAM, you have a website making money from adsense!

As you are probably thinking, its not easy. The steps are simple, even if i have oversimplified them here, but the work involved and
learning processes unfortunately are not so easy! But in each way to make money on line(and there are a whole bunch of different ways to make money on line), the steps are the same every time. Once you have one website making a good profit, its not hard to repeat it.
Over and over…..

My point is this. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel each time to make an income on line. Nor is the latest whiz-bang piece of
software or ebook likely to make big difference, most of the time, especially if you are in the early stages of starting out and have
an income under a $1000 a month.

Please take this one thing away from what you are reading: You don’t have to and shouldn’t buy every product that comes along. This
area, Internet marketing, is very hyped delivering often less than it seemed from the sales pitch.

It seems like every day there are 3 new products to buy. No one has
the time to learn and implement tactics in a new ebook or software every day. Too much information and too many products just end up
giving you a headache!

So, please remember, before you buy anything, give it a lot of
thought. Make sure its something you can use and WILL use. I’ve got a ton of ’stuff’ on my hard drive i haven’t even had time to look
at. I don’t want that to happen to you.

Be Like A Fisherman

June 12th, 2006
Today I want to talk about fishing. Not fly fishing, which is a very popular sport, but the trawler kind of fishing. Trawler fishermen use nets. These nets cast a wide footprint over a large area, where they scoop up lots of fish.
What I want you to think about is, casting your own marketing nets wide. The one difference from the above example being, I want you to think of a focused kind of net. Many smaller nets casting out for whatever you are looking to get. Say its traffic; use many different techniques to bring the traffic home, not just one or two. The more methods you use, the more ‘fish’ you are likely to catch, and being a focused ‘net’, the more of the right kind of ‘fish’ you are likely to get.
Use pay per click, and viral marketing and submit articles, instead of using just one method. One of these methods takes money, the other two, effort. All three are effective and valuable.
Lets say niches as another example. You want to concentrate on many different types of niches. Not just one or two, so if one niche has a bad week, month or year, you have many other ones to fall back on. Therefore, more niches usually equals more income, and a more stable one at that. ALWAYS focus on multiple streams of income. (The trick is to pursue several things, yet not spread yourself too thin. You want multiple but not DOZENS of sources- after all, there are only so many hours in the day right?).
These niches could be; losing weight, building muscle, and protein shakes. (Notice how all the niches are loosely related? Its a good idea to also choose niches that are similar in some way, so that all the people on one list could be interested in any products/items that you promote to another list).
Thats all for today. Hope this gives you something to ponder.
